The 12 Best Self Tanners For Summer Of All Time

Every girl knows that a summer tan is the PERFECT way to get you feeling sexy and slender, especially now that the weather’s heating up!

Oh yes… it’s that time of year again.

That dreaded time of year when we have to expose that pasty white flesh we’ve all been keeping under wraps for months.

I’ve rounded up my fave gradual tans, sprays, lotions, mousses and face tanners that’ll keep you looking golden and glossy all summer long.

Take a look at my top 12 self tanners below!

1. Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Milk Range

As the name suggests, this brand is 100% Australian owned!

Enriched with antioxidants, aloe vera, coca butter and Vitamin E for beautiful skin, you can definitely feel the difference in the subtleness of your skin.

My fave product from the range would have to be the Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Milk Face. Make sure you spread it all the way up to your hairline and match it up to the tan line on your body. Check out a review I did earlier this year on the Bondi Sands range.

2. Palmer’s Natural Instant Bronzer

This is Palmer’s newest instant bronzer and it is by far EASIEST instant moisturising tan you will EVER use.

This ultra-moisturising sunless tanner and instant bronzer provides immediate colour with an even, streak-fee application.

Combined with the classic cocoa butter formula and other rich emollients, this is the perfect self tanner to keep you skin feeling hydrated.

3. Sukin Sunless Bronzing Gel

With aloe vera for instant skin hydration, lemon myrtle and lime oils this gentle bronzing gel is specifically designed to encourage a natural looking glow.

The best thing about this little number is that it’s quick drying, there’s no waiting around to put your clothes back on!

It’s also free of sulphates (like all Sukin products), non greasy and suitable for the face and body.

4. L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze DB Spray Mist & Self-Tanning Lotion

Every girl will appreciate the new 3D Spray Mist by L’Oreal Paris! It comes with a wide angle jet applicator and provides 360° coverage for those ultra-even results we all want. What more could a girl ask for a in fake tan?

If you’re more of a lotion girl, then you can try the Self-Tanning Lotion, it’s made up with the same formula as the 3D Spray Mist and works just as well.

5. L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Gel

This non-greasy tanning gel is packed full with enriching Vitamin E to soften the skin.

It’s also got a smoothing effect, which is easy to apply and dries rapidly. From only one hour it gives the skin a golden glow, with an instant velvety touch.

6. Tantastic Self Tanning Mousse

This is one of the top telling self-tanning brands in the UK, and it’s now available in NZ!

This hot pink packaged tanning mousse is a quick-drying, odourless formula that will leave your skin bronzed all-over within minutes.

For those that love a deep bronzed tan, an increased concentration concentration of Ecocert approved 100% organic DHA is combined with intensely moisturising and skin conditioning VitaminB5, aloe vera and glycerine to ensure your tan is hydrated and silky smooth.

7. Dove Summer Glow Gradual Self Tan Body Lotion

If you’re looking for is a gradual tan that builds up, then this product is for you.

For fair to medium skin, this gorgeous tan gradually builds the perfect tone for those of us with naturally paler skin.

This stuff is super affordable and it LITERALLY appears overnight!<

8. Le Tan EXPRESS Instant Bronzing Spray & Mousse

These new tanners from Le Tan are every regular tanner’s dream come true.

Their innovative formula allows the melanin intensifiers to continue to develop into a streak-free, natural looking tan in just 30 minutes, making these tanners a real game-changer in the tanning industry!

My favourite thing about these tanners is that you can shower after 1 hour for a deep bronze tan or wait 2 hours before showering for a darker colour.

9. Sugar Baby Sun Believable Dark Bronze Mousse

If you’ve yet to try Sugar Baby’s tanning range, then do yourself a favor and TRY IT!

This stuff smells AMAZING and glides on effortlessly and evenly to present uneven patches providing a believable bronzed tropical self-tanner that will deepen over two hours.

It’s enriched with SugarBaby’s customized skin loving Acti-Tan- 3 formula to help keep your skin soft and smooth.

10. St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse

This one of my FAVE tanning products and is a perfect choice for shorter-term needs like a vacation, trip to the beach or a night out. Not only does it smell really good, it’s also super easy to apply, and dries extremely fast!

The color is good but may be a little light for people who want to look really dark.

I got my one from – they have an awesome range of self-tanners if you’re looking to buy online.

11. Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse

This has to be the BEST smelling self-tanner I have EVER come across. It literally smells like chocolate and caramel!

I’ve been using this tan on and off throughout the year and have never looked back – it’s long lasting, natural-looking and streak-free.

You can pick this up for a good price at as well.

I did a full review of this product on the blog earlier this year if you want to read more about it.

12. Lux Evenly Gorgeous & St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub + Mask

Preparing your skin before you self-tan would have to be the single most important aspect to achieving a jaw dropping, long lasting tan that will be the envy of all your friends.

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, unclogs your pores and prevents uneven skin tone which is, as you can imagine, of upmost importance when self-tanning.

I use the Lux Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash and St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub + Mask as part of my pre-tanning ritual.

I’ve featured a whole heap of self tanning tips and tricks in a post I did earlier this year if you’re interested in learning more?
