Having gloriously long mermaid hair has always been a lifelong dream of mine.
I’ve been trying to grow my hair ever since I was about 12-years-old, but for some unknown reason my hair always seems to just ‘stop growing’ once it gets to a certain length (does anyone else have this problem or am I just weird?).
So after continuous failed attempts, I decided it was high time to do some research around specific products and techniques that could help grow my hair longer.
Check out my hair growth routine below to learn how I grew my hair longer in just three months!
I know everyone is different when it comes to hair growth, so to put it into perspective for you, the average women grows about quarter of an inch per month.
My new hair routine bumped up my average to be about an inch and a half per month.

I came across NISM’s F.A.S.T Shampoo and Conditioner during my search for successful hair growth products online.
As most people would, I initially questioned a shampoo that claimed to ‘grow your hair longer in a shorter amount of time’ – I just kept thinking that if it really worked then why wasn’t everyone already using it?
But after doing my research and seeing a number of positive reviews, I quickly changed my mind and made an order.
This stuff is clinically proven to double your growth rate in a short amount of time, and is formulated with naturally fortified amino acids designed to provide an ideal scalp environment to promote hair growth.
I used NISIM’s F.A.S.T Shampoo and Conditioner for three months and my hair grew 4.4 inches longer (note* I had a trim during this time of about an inch, making the growth results in my photos appear as 3.4 inches).
Seriously, It’s like the RevitaLash of shampoos.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who’s looking to grow their hair.
In order to grow your hair, you need to have healthy hair – and to have healthy hair, you need to take care of it.
Hair masks and intensive treatments are a must-have if you’re looking to grow your hair, nourishment is key to keeping your locks happy.
I’ve been using NIOXIN’s Intensive Treatment Deep Repair Hair Masque, and boy it is it a treat. Although it’s a very lightweight formula, I only ever need a 50c coin size amount because a little goes a long way with this stuff…
It’s especially beneficial if you’ve got dry and/or coloured hair like me as it really works to lock in that moisture and strengthen the colour.
Every girl should know that Moroccan Oil is essential in every hair routine, be it for hair growth or your normal day-to-day replenishment.
I’d heard good things about Moroccan Oil Light from a number of my fellow bloggers & vloggers, so I decided to give it a whirl and see what all the fuss was about.
First impressions? It’s got a faint scent that smells pretty good and it’s so light and non-greasy (tick, tick, tick).
Moroccan Oils are jam-packed with benefits – it’s especially great for adding in lost proteins for strength, fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins. The very first day I started using this product I noticed an instant difference in how my hair felt – it was much softer and way more shiny.
When it comes to Moroccan Oil, this stuff tends to be a little more on the pricey side – but for a darn good reason in my opinion.
If you wash your hair every day like I did, then you will get nowhere if you’re trying to grow your hair.
Your hair needs essential fatty acids and oils in order to grow and be healthy. It took a good 3-4 weeks to train my hair into it’s new washing schedule, but it was well worth it in the end.
I used Sebastian Professional’s Drynamic dry shampoo to get me through the really oily days (ew).
The reason I love this dry shampoo over all the others is because it works so quickly to absorb all the oil, and at the same time it leaves my hair in a style-able condition – it’s a win-win for me.
Just to spice things up a bit, I thought I’d use two different kinds of hair masks during my little hair growth project.
I’ve always been a fan of Wella Professionals Enrich Moisturising Treatment, it’s such a great quality product and it’s never let me down.
Compared to the NIOXIN, this one is much more creamier which is nice if you’re all about the texture.
We all know the hardest part about growing hair is dealing with split ends.
Each and every time I go to the hairdressers for a trim I have to keep reminding myself that in order for my hair to grow it needs to be trimmed and healthy.
I hope this helped you out with product ideas if you’re looking to grow your hair – I am going to continue using this routine for the next little while.
Does anyone else have any tips/products that they would recommend for hair growth? Let me know!
