Here’s 12 Hair Oils That Will Nourish and Revitalise Your Hair

If I had to pick one hair product in this world that I just couldn’t live without, it would have to be hair oils.

Hair oils would have to be one of the most underestimated beauty products of all time. And to this very day in 2017, I still know so many people that don’t use them… and it makes me cringe every time I think about it.

So, if you’re not using a hair oil, please do me a favour and give it a go (like ASAP).

Hair oils replace essential moisture and nutrients that get lost during washing and styling, and you need these oils in order to protect your hair from heat damage, brushing and other environmental elements such as the harsh sun, or drying winter wind.

They are also suuuuuuper beneficial if you suffer from dryness, damage, split ends and/or frizziness. Just a few drops of this magical oil will literally change your life. I’m not even kidding.

If you’re looking for a a new hair oil to try, or have never tried any before (tut tut)… then you can check out my top twelve fave hair oils to try.

1. HASK Shine Oil Vials

HairOil_2

These lightweight, alcohol-free oils absorb instantly to provide frizz-free shine without leaving an oily residue. There is a wide range of oils to suit all hair types, and at just $5.20 each they are super affordable!

I personally think the size is a bit small for me, but they are absolutely perfect if you’re looking for a travel sized oil to take away on holiday.

2. L’Oreal Professional Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil

HairOil_3

Disclaimer: this would have to be my favourite out of all 13 oils.

Inspired by oriental beauty rituals, this baby is both lightweight and versatile, which means it can be used as a blow dry treatment to reduce drying time – or as a finishing product to control frizz and fly-aways.

It’s enriched with a blend of avocado and grape seed oil, which is designed to nourish, protect and shine.

3. OGX Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco – Penetrating Oil

This magical oil is made up of a soothing blend of nutrient rich plant oils to calm and moisturise an itchy irritated scalp. Calendula, Lavender, Chamomile, and Patchouli essential oils unite to relieve itching and inflammation. Sweet Almond and Jojoba oils provide support to reduce dryness and provide shine to the hair.

It’s also fast-drying, and leaves hair feeling soft and more manageable without a greasy residue.

If you’ve yet to try anything from BEYOUTIFI, let this be your first!

This magical potion is imported directly from Morocco and is 100% pure, natural and certified organic in New Zealand (so no additives like fragrances, chemicals, fillers or preservatives, unlike many of the large recognisable brands on the market).

There are two sizes available, and you can purchase them from The Beauty Lounge.

7. L’Oreal Paris Elvive Extraordinary Oil

This has also been one of my tried and true favourites over the past year (and yes, it does really live up to its name).

It can be used on all hair types, and contains six precious flower oils including chamomile, lotus and rose to hydrate, protect and nourish from the inside out. It leaves your hair feeling smooth and supple, with the oil infusing each strand with condition and shine.

The best thing about this particular oil, is that it’s extremely versatile and can be used on both wet and dry hair (like the Mythic Oil mentioned earlier).

8. Redken Diamond Oil Glow Dry

This is the latest range from Matrix, and it’s entirely inspired by the ancient beauty rituals of Egypt, India and the Amazon – formulated with exotic ingredients to strengthen, tame and enhance shine for all hair types.

This particular oil featured above is specifically formulated for colour-treated hair. Believe it or not, but Egyptian Hibiscus Color Caring Oil restores colour vibrancy, softness and radiance.

10. Weleda Nourishing Hair Oil

HairOil_11

If you’re already a fan of Weleda, then you need to try their new hair oil.

This deep-conditioning treatment restores moisture, softens split ends and adds radiant shine as it penetrates. Organic rosemary leaf extract helps strengthen dry, damaged hair, while organic burdock root extract revitalises and nourishes hair and scalp.

Use daily or as needed for softer, smoother, more manageable hair from root to tip. For an immediate difference in hair’s appearance, use as an overnight replenishment treatment. Massage a small amount into scalp and brush through to ends. Wash out in the morning and style as usual.

11. Argan Oil Shampoo, Conditioner & Heat Defence Leave In Spray

These are actually from Postie +, which means they are really affordable.

If you’re looking to get the best of both worlds at a fraction of the price, then look no further! This range has it all. There are also Argan Hair Treatment Shots (a pack of 3) available as part of this range too, and they retail for $6.00 for the entire pack.

12. Lush Damaged Hot Oil Treatment

HairOil_14

Last but not least, we have this wee gem from Lush.

If you have been mistreating your hair, now is the time to show it some love with this sweetly scented oil treatment. Olive and avocado oil will assist with the tensile strength of hair and hydration while almond oil will give shine and softness.

This stuff is perfect for hair that has been over-processed, bleached, straightened or continuously blown out.

13. By Nature Essential Oils Range (okay I lied, there’s 13, not 12)

Disclaimer: these are not hair oils, but they were too good not to include in this post!

These essential oils are perfect for keeping your home smelling nice! They come in three different scents: Tea Tree, Eucalyptus and Lavender.

  • I love hair oils but I am very fussy that they must be actual oils. So many of the popular brands of hair oil are mostly silicone with very little oil! I currently use pure argan oil and my hair loves it so much! I’ve also used one of those Lush solid hair oils and liked that too.
